NICKO McBRAIN'S DRUM ONE

Drum center: DRUM ONE

Nicko McBrain was one of the music stars of NAMM 2018. On January 25, when the "Atomic Clock" showed "23:58" for the first time since 1984, the drummer gave a long interview in which he announced the launch of his first drum center, "Nicko McBrain's DRUM". The music center store, located in Manchester, the property capital of northern England, on the Trafford Park business estate, offers Planet Paiste , the UK's largest Paiste exhibition hall and Sonorsphere, where customers will find the largest selection of Sonora products in the UK. Apart from those listed, all major drum and percussion brands were to be available to interested parties. Formerly "Manchester Drum Center", operating since 1983, from now on it was to operate as "Drum One" by Nicko McBrain, who took over the company on November 1, 2017 after the retirement of long-time owner and operator Rob Pearson. The company continued to operate under the name "Drum Center" until the official launch of Drum One on January 25, 2018. As part of the project, Nicko joined forces with Craig Buckley, former GM at Premier Drums, who became his strategic partner in the industry.

Sam McGoran, long-term manager at Drum Center, remains sales manager and shareholder. Nicko did not hide his enthusiasm: We plan to have a continuous presence on the Internet thanks to an exceptionally well-thought-out website and online store, which will be launched by spring 2018. We are very committed to making the actual store somewhat of a social hub for drummers, we will be hosting regular in-store events led by manufacturers and clinics that will be held at local venues. We want drummers to come and spend time in the store, whether they buy or not. 'Drum One' will be an adventure and we want as many drummers as possible to be a part of it! The "Nicko McBrain's Drum ONE" center was opened on February 1, 2018.

From now on, the showroom - drum center offers a wide range of services, attractions and drum equipment, going beyond the operating standards typical of a standard instrument sales point. In the showroom you can find a wide selection of products from such brands as: DrumOne, DW, Zildjian, Vater, Pro Mark, Remo, Yamaha, CODE, Evans, Aquarian, Gibraltar, Sonor, Paiste, Mapex, Pearl, Ludwig, Gretsch, Tama, Drum Workshop, Vic Firth, Worldmax and many others. The main offer was divided into two separate segments, related to the displays of products from Sonor (Sonorsphere) and Paiste (Planet Paiste). "Nicko Mcbrain's Drum One" actively participates in and sponsors numerous drum clinics, meetings of stars - legends of the instrument, seminars and music workshops, equipment fairs, demonstrations of skills and trainings intended for both professionals and amateurs, and finally transactions of exchange or resale of equipment new and used as part of "DrumOne Adventure"

The owner took care of affordability, flexibility of installment settlements, attractiveness of promotions and availability of all products that make up the current offer of the salon. Those interested can try and purchase equipment that allows them to improve the sets or thoroughly modernize them. The salon quickly gained many supporters and the recognition of professional musicians who admitted that the impressive range of Paiste and Sonor products is one of the best in the British Isles. "Drum One" also provides the opportunity to get acquainted with prototype models of instruments and many market novelties. At a specially prepared exhibition stand, you can see original models of drum sets used over the years by Nicko McBrain when playing in Iron Maiden. In October 2018, during the An Evening With Ian Paice event , hosted by Nicko McBrain - the owner of "Drum One", it was revealed that the bands in which both drummers play ( Deep Purple and Iron Maiden) have sold a total of over 250 million LPs, of which approximately 135 million copies were sold of records released by Ian Paice's colleagues. In November 2019, the drummer became the global brand ambassador of the "British Drum Co." company, with which he joined after years of cooperation with Paiste and Sonor. Starting in 1982, when Nicko started cooperation with Iron Maiden, over 100 million of the group's albums recorded with his participation were sold. In January 2020, the first products resulting from the drummer's cooperation with the British company had their market premiere. These included the Icarus and Talisman snare drums signed by the musician , as well as a professional McBrain Icarus drum set. The instruments were advertised, among others, during the NAMM 2020 music fair in the USA.
